Six years ago, we started Divergence Neuro in Toronto with a fairly simple idea, to make high-quality neurofeedback more accessible, more flexible and easier for clinicians to deliver. We had no idea exactly where that idea would take us, but we knew there was an opportunity to rethink how practitioners could use modern technologies to help clients get better results and scale their impact.
Six years later, we are still based in the 6ix, but the company has grown far beyond the platform we started with. Divergence now brings together neurofeedback, biofeedback, assessment, devices, protocols, education and research, serving a growing community of practitioners, coaches, wellness professionals, scientists, and users around the world.
Six years of innovation, growth and endless new possibilities
The biggest change has been the pace at which we have been able to expand what practitioners can do. In 2026 alone, we added new physiological signals, new training approaches, new devices, new clinical tools and new ways to work with data. At the same time, Divergence has grown to more than 1,500 users across 20 countries, delivering more than 20,000 training sessions every month.
Those numbers are meaningful because they represent real practitioners using the platform with real clients and they also give us a much clearer picture of what the field needs next.
From EEG to the full picture of physiological training
In 2026, Divergence expanded well beyond EEG to support a broader range of physiological training. We added respiration, skin temperature, and skin conductance, and launched HRV Training with three modes: RSA, Low Frequency, and Coherence. We also brought Vielight MIP companion protocols to the platform and partnered with Attuned Neurofeedback & Psychotherapy of New Jersey (ANPNJ) to make the Attuned Core Protocol Suite available to practitioners.
We expanded the device ecosystem as well, adding the BrainBit DragonEEG, Synchroni Neo and Octo, Thought Technology eVu TPS, Polar Loop, H10 and H9, and Narbis EDGE. We also welcomed BusyEye Games as a new partner and feedback modality, giving practitioners another way to engage clients during training.
The goal was not simply to add more technologies but rather to give practitioners more signals, more devices, more protocols and more ways to deliver training, so they can choose the approach that best fits the person they are working with.
Building the tools that simplify clinical work
We also made major improvements to the platform itself, with a focus on giving practitioners more control and making everyday clinical workflows more efficient. New capabilities include impedance monitoring, multi-device protocols, dynamic thresholding customization, Clinical Dashboard alerts, Clinician Mode in the mobile app, and a revamped Protocol Builder.
On the data and assessment side, we added Lempel-Ziv complexity metrics, EDF exports, summary measure report customization, discrete feedback charts, TheraQ raw data exports, questionnaire results exports, automated client status management, cloning, interpolated brain maps for 8+ channel devices, and TheraQ Assessment Comparisons. Also in concert with our partners at TruBearing, we brought their TheraQ Insights Report to the platform, giving practitioners another way to turn session and assessment data into useful clinical information.
Many of these improvements happen behind the scenes, but they address a simple need that the more capable the technology becomes, the easier it should be to use in real clinical practice.
Bridging the gap between what technology can do and what practitioners need
This is increasingly what we want Divergence to do: bringing more of the clinical workflows into one place. Practitioners should be able to manage clients, build and adjust protocols, monitor sessions, compare assessments, work across devices, and make better use of their data without having to piece together multiple systems. Researchers should have access to the data they need, while coaches and other practitioners should have more flexibility in how they work with the people they serve. We strongly believe technology should make the work easier, not add another layer of complexities to it.
From Toronto to a community around the world
Divergence started in Toronto, but the company has never been shaped by Toronto alone. Our clinicians, researchers, educators, coaches, technology partners, and users across various countries have helped tremendously in determining what we build and where we go next. Some of our most valuable ideas have come directly from those conversations, like a device someone wanted to use, a workflow that needed to be easier, data someone needed to access, or a clinical approach that deserved to be supported. What started as a Toronto company has become a global community, and that community continues to shape the platform.
Year seven comes with more devices, enhanced training experiences and newer possibilities
The next stage is about making Divergence more comprehensive, connected and useful in everyday practice. We have a clear roadmap for the year ahead, with more devices, more content, more education, better clinical tools and smarter automation coming to the platform.
More devices – We plan to continue bringing world-class, easy-to-use devices to Divergence, from new form factors and higher-channel-count systems to established market leaders. The goal is to give practitioners more choice without adding complexity to their workflow.
More insight – We are working on bringing the qEEG assessment report experience to all clinicians who utilize 19+ channel devices by partnering with a world-class FDA-cleared normative database developer. All clinicians with the DragonEEG device will be able to get qEEG reports soon. We are also continuing to invest in more reporting and analytics capabilities to drive more and deeper insights for clinicians.
More content and training approaches – We are working with new partners to bring their protocols, ideas, and expertise into the platform. That includes new protocol packages for wellness applications such as HRV, respiration, and skin conductance, brand new animated feedback content tailored to specific experiences, and novel training approaches that can be delivered through comprehensive neurofeedback and biofeedback workflows.
More education – Our partners are also developing new training offerings designed to deepen clinical understanding and improve the practical application of neurofeedback and biofeedback in a more accessible and time-friendly form. Technology is only as useful as the knowledge behind it, and we want Divergence to support both.
More tools for clinics – We are continuing to build clinical management capabilities that allow care providers to handle more of their workflow within one system, from managing clients and sessions to organizing assessments, protocols, data, and reporting.
More automation with clinicians in control – We are also developing automation and AI-assisted analysis tools that can help clinicians make sense of their data and spend less time on repetitive tasks. The goal is not to automate clinical judgment. It is to give practitioners better information, in less time, so they can make more informed decisions about care.
Next year is about building a more capable platform while staying true to what has guided us from the beginning, which is that technology should make clinical work easier, not more complicated.
Six years in the 6ix and the next chapter is bigger
Six years ago, we were focused on making neurofeedback more accessible. Today, we are building a platform that brings together different physiological signals, devices, training approaches and growing communities of practitioners and researchers around the world. That growth is something I am proud of, but I am even more grateful for the people who made it possible.
To our team, you are brilliant, passionate, and amazing! You inspire me everyday. The past six years went by fast because of you. I am privileged to be working with you and forever grateful for all your support and amazing work.
To our clinicians and coaches, thank you for trusting us with your work.
To our researchers, educators, and clinical experts, thank you for challenging our thinking.
To our partners, thank you for bringing your expertise into the ecosystem.
To our clients and families, thank you for reminding us that behind every session and every data point is a person.
Six years in the 6ix is worth celebrating because it represents more than six years in business. It demonstrates how an idea that started as a simple vision grew through collaboration, reached practitioners around the world, and continues to open up new possibilities for neurotechnology.
We are grateful for how far we have come, and excited about where the next six years can take us.
Here’s to the next chapter, and to everyone who will help us build it.
