Mobile Developer (co-op)

Divergence Neuro Technologies, Inc. is looking for a talented individual to fill the position of Mobile Developer (co-op) to continue building, maintaining, and upgrading our platform mobile application, Dive, and its variants using React Native. The position would be working in hybrid fashion (mostly remotely) on a full time basis.

What you’ll be working on:

Divergence is building a mobile application that enables remote data collection and mental health training session implementation with integration to mobile, dry, wireless EEG and EKG devices. You will be a core part of the development team that is obsessed with better user experience, capabilities, and performance of the application.

Your day-to-day will involve: 

  • Providing daily planning and task updates at standup meetings with development and product teams,
  • Working with the product team to design and validate app features to deliver incremental value to customers,
  • Clearly documenting implementation and design decisions in Confluence,
  • Clearly communicating status, estimates, and efforts in Jira,
  • Building and implementing the mobile app to be simple, elegant, secure and performant,
  • Managing and performing maintenance, changes and bug fixes on the mobile app,
  • Releasing the mobile app onto applicable app stores and platforms (Apple, Google),
  • Managing the process of testing the mobile app for compliance with security and privacy policies as well as to ensure compliance with the stated business objectives of the app / feature.

You must have: 

  • Experience developing, testing and launching at least one (1) data-driven mobile applications,
  • Demonstrable practical experience using React Native, React and Javascript (co-op or hobby experience is applicable),
  • Experience implementing mobile application UI / UX designs,
  • In-depth knowledge of working with data driven workflow implementation and REST APIs,
  • Solid understanding of security principles and practices on mobile platforms,
  • Great written and verbal communication skills in English,
  • Ability to work quickly, independently, and efficiently,
  • A keen desire towards continuous learning and demonstrable cases where you have applied this to learn new things extremely quickly,
  • Open mind and proven mental agility to pivot if and when required without impact to productivity and timelines,
  • Resourcefulness to identify requirements and find solutions creatively.

Preference will be given if you have: 

  • Previous startup experience,
  • Biomedical technology development experience,
  • Experience with signal processing especially relating to biological signals such as EEG and/or EKG,
  • Solid understanding of SDK integration into mobile applications including testing and debugging 3rd party device SDK’s,
  • Understanding of lean product development principles,
  • Full stack experience for mobile client and backend,
  • Experience designing UX / UI based on business requirements.

Your education: 

  • Enrolled in a Computer Science / Computer Engineering related post secondary degree, diploma program at an Ontario University or College,
  • Specialized training or real world experience in developing mobile applications.
